Teaching Opportunity: Elementary Greek School Teacher (Part-Time)


Position Summary:


We are seeking a passionate and organized Elementary Greek School Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children—even outside of traditional classroom settings—who is enthusiastic about teaching Greek, creative in their lesson planning, and confident in managing classroom behavior. You’ll work collaboratively with other teachers and leverage modern technology to make learning Greek fun and effective.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Greek language lessons for elementary-aged children including cultural celebrations
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and participation.
  • Evaluate student progress through informal and formal assessments.
  • Implement strategies to manage classroom behavior constructively.
  • Incorporate technology and interactive tools to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate regularly with our partner organization, fellow teachers and the Curriculum Administrator to align on curriculum, events, and initiatives.
  • Communicate with parents about student progress and program updates when needed.


Qualifications:


  • Fluency in Greek (spoken and written).
  • Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camp counselor, youth programming, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to engage students and manage a lively classroom setting.
  • Comfortable using educational technology and online teaching platforms.
  • A collaborative, flexible, and creative approach to teaching.


Preferred (but not required):


  • Experience in Greek language instruction or a background in education.
  • Familiarity with Greek cultural traditions and holidays.


Hours & Compensation:


  • This is a part-time position, held on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8:30pm.
  • Hourly rate based on experience and educational background
